Offer Description

In Dear Senthuran: A Black Spirit Memoir, acclaimed Nigerian author Akwaeke Emezi invites readers into a bold, intimate, and spiritually charged reckoning with their life as an artist, a trans non-binary spirit, and a seeker of truth. Presented through a series of deeply personal letters, this stunning memoir transcends the boundaries of conventional autobiography to illuminate what it means to forge a self—beyond flesh, family, and fear.
Dear Senthuran unravels themes of identity, divinity, and liberation as Emezi explores Igbo cosmology, their experiences with gender, mental health, and the trials of building a literary career.
✨ Through vulnerable, impassioned correspondence with loved ones, the book charts their journey of disintegration and reconstitution—of claiming the authority to name themselves and walk their own spiritual path.
✨ As lyrical as it is searing, this memoir confronts trauma, cultural inheritance, success, rage, and healing with poetic clarity and fearless introspection.
✨ It is a groundbreaking work that echoes with the voices of Toni Morrison, Audre Lorde, and other radical storytellers—yet remains fiercely singular in tone and vision.
