Is a plactic tube that attaches to a metered_dose inhaler (MDI) to improve medication delivery to. This aerosol holding chamber spacer device significantly improves the efficacy and safety of pressurised metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) therapy by holding the aerosolised drug cloud for 3–5 seconds — allowing the patient to inhale the full dose slowly and deeply at their own pace. The spacer eliminates the need for precise hand-breath coordination that many patients — particularly children, the elderly, and those in acute distress — find difficult to achieve with a pMDI alone. By slowing the aerosol velocity, the spacer dramatically reduces oropharyngeal drug deposition and systemic steroid absorption while maximising lower airway drug delivery. Suitable for use with all standard pMDI inhalers for asthma, COPD, and other obstructive airways disease management. Available in adult and paediatric sizes with a soft mask option for infants.
