We provide technical support to Local Government Authorities—specifically Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs)—to develop and implement medium- to long-term Local Economic Development (LED) policies and strategies. This is achieved through various partnerships with international development organizations and in alignment with the National LED Policy, with the goal of strengthening MMDA capacity for effective LED governance, promoting local areas to attract businesses and investors, improving access to economic infrastructure to support industrialization, facilitating access to productive assets such as land and water, and enhancing access to finance and entrepreneurial skills development for businesses, cooperatives, and vulnerable groups. Our work involves close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including District Assemblies, youth groups, Farmer-Based Organizations, religious leaders, the Ghana Enterprises Agency (formerly NBSSI), the Rural Enterprises Programme, Business Advisory Centres (BACs/BRCs), the Association of Small Scale Industries (ASSI), and other trade associations, all aimed at addressing youth unemployment and driving broader community-based economic development. Our grassroots engagement has given us valuable insight into the diverse aspects of LED, enterprise capacity development, and value chain enhancement. Notable MMDAs we have supported include Tema Metropolitan Assembly, Effutu Municipal Assembly, Lower and Upper Manya Krobo District Assemblies, Ketu South and Keta Municipal Assemblies, Kadjebi and Biakoye District Assemblies, and the Wenchi, Nkoranza North and South, and Kintampo South Municipal/District Assemblies.
