About BigCommerce
BigCommerce is a hosted ecommerce platform (described by the publisher as 'Open SaaS') for building and running online stores. It is aimed at merchants at every stage of growth, from small startups to mid-market and enterprise businesses, selling to consumers (B2C) and to other businesses (B2B).
Stores can be built visually without code, or customised through full API and code access. The platform includes a one-page checkout with digital wallets, one-click payments and buy-now-pay-later options, and support for complex products with variants, bundles and configurations.
Merchants can sell across several storefronts, languages and currencies from one system, and list products on channels such as Google, Meta, TikTok, Amazon, Walmart and eBay. The publisher also offers an AI assistant called Companion and tools aimed at selling through AI search and chat.
