About Bahmni
Bahmni is a free and open source electronic medical record (EMR) and hospital information system designed for low-resource environments. It is aimed at clinics, hospitals, NGOs and governments.
It combines and builds on existing open source products into one solution: OpenMRS for electronic medical records and patient management, OpenERP for inventory, billing and financial accounting, OpenELIS for laboratory management, and DICOM/PACS for imaging.
The project says it can be hosted and run at the hospital site without depending on the internet. It can be used on devices such as tablets and laptops, and hospitals can adopt only the parts they need and integrate them with existing systems.
