Akaunting is free, open-source accounting software for small businesses and freelancers. It lets you send invoices, track expenses and manage your money online from a computer, tablet or phone.
The Standard plan of the on-premise (self-hosted) version is free, and the source code is available. The publisher says an online (cloud) version is also offered, so you can see your finances from anywhere.
The site describes the following tools:

- Expense and bill tracking
- Cash flow overview
- Categories for income, expenses and items
- Client portal for sharing invoices and transactions, and accepting bulk payments
Akaunting is translated into more than 50 languages by volunteer contributors. The publisher reports users in over 100 countries.
